Curious Seed's Dance About welcomes you into an mesmerising dance & chalk space, where two dancers are ready to have fun. Discover a range of playful choreographed moves, then combine your favourites into your own routine. Design a chalk background and you’re ready to Dance About!

Featuring internationally acclaimed dance artists Christine Devaney and Hendrik Lebon with a contemporary soundscape composed by Kim Moore.

A digital dance toy designed primarily for young people and anyone with an interest in dance, with appeal to the wider public. Curious Seed has partnered with Hippotrix to create this witty, accessible and thought-provoking dance app.

App Interactions include:

JOURNEYS

This scene introduces movement across space in a variety of different ways: SWIPE in any direction for the dancer to make their move! Use the DRAW/DANCE button to chalk words or patterns around them, and the ERASE button to quickly clean the whole screen! We also have a different coloured auto-chalk that switches on so you can draw while the dancers dance. The LOCK/LOOP button repeats the same journey over and over and gives you the opportunity to continuously chalk in our colour.

POSTURES A (curled up)

Postures gives you a chance to play with our dancers and get them to perform a variety of moves. Tap the top and bottom of the screen, and swipe left, right or vertically to yield different results. Make a gesture in the middle to get them both to 'dance' at the same time.

POSTURES B (standing)

In the second part of this scene, there are six different moves for each dancer - try different combinations to choreograph your dancers. Swipe left, right, up and down all get different results. Also try tickling them with two fingers. And of course you can continue chalking! The erase tool is different in this scene, more like a traditional paint app. Note: When you chalk in this scene the dancers roll off and back on to give you a clean page to draw on.

DUET

In the final phase the dancers come together. Call the dancers to move and influence the picture with your chalk designs. After they leave you can continue to chalk and erase.
