Los Angeles Looksee AR

LookSee is an augmented reality viewer used to find places of interest directly on your phone camera's screen and add fun, knowledge and interest to your adventures and tours.

Once the app is downloaded no further wi-fi or cellular network connection is needed in order for it to work, so you can use it when out and about where there is no signal coverage.

This version is for Los Angeles and locates places in and around Downtown Los Angeles and it’s surrounding, much wider, coastal basin area. In fact the area covered encompasses a rectangle stretching north-west from the coast at Santa Barbara to south-east inland at Temecula. This is an area of 11,700 sq miles (30,000 km2).

All towns and districts within the region are covered including: Anaheim, Beverley Hills, Camarillo, Costa Mesa, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Ana, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Simi Valley, Temecula and Ventura.

In fact there are around 30,000 places of interest viewable within the App including the Griffith Observatory, Hollywood Hill, Disney at Anaheim, the San Gabriel Mountains and many other scenes not only within the Los Angeles metro but everywhere within the LA area.

Categories that can be viewed and selected include Tourist Attractions, Hills, Lakes, Parks & Woodlands, Cities, Towns, Suburban Areas, Villages & Hamlets, Airports, Train & Major Bus Stations, Municipal Buildings, Places of Worship, Historic Sites, Tall Buildings, Man-made structures (such as Bridges, Dams and Tunnels), Natural features and Museums & Arts.

LookSee features include:

- a settings menu (using which the categories of points of interest you wish to display can be easily selected)
- an on screen distance slider (for an interactive depth of view filter up to 10km)
- an on screen zoom (using an on screen pinch to zoom gesture)
- a snap shot camera (for annotating your photos)
- a video recorder for saving and sharing interesting places on social media (accessed by holding the camera icon for 1 second)
- hold face down for radar view of everything around you
- interactive objects
