YLanes

YLanes is a space for meaningful conversations.

In these lanes people from across the world can experience the joy of being authentic and freely share their personal life stories, ideas, philosophies, perspectives and predicaments in safe, small, curated, shared interest groups.

This is a conversations only platform and does not provide any counseling, advice or solutions. This is a platform for adults, who can take responsibility for their behaviour and engage in authentic yet respectful conversations in an audio / visual format. We have zero tolerence for bad behaviour (harassing, bullying, nudity, abuse etc.) and repeat offenders could be permanently debarred from the platform.

Users can choose from a list of 75+ conversation topics from 3 broad categories - 1) Relationships 2) Reflections 3) Exploring Self. Each of these categories are divided in to subcategories and topics of conversations.

The users need to follow a simple 3 step process to get started - 1) Choose a topic of interest 2) Create a room or Register for a room already created on this topic 3) Login at the time of the call and enjoy meaningful conversations.

We enable a high degree of curation to ensure 3 aspects - A) users are able to speak with people they could relate to B) users experience a safe space and C) users experience a high quality conversation and not just a casual experience of killing time.

On the profile page, we encourage users to provide answers to a few psychometric questions to help others understand the kind of person they are. A well articulated profile page enables users to get higher registrations for a created room and higher acceptance for Premium Rooms.

We have 4 Room Types to choose from -

1) Standard Rooms - anyone can create or register, max 5 in a room, first-come-first-serve.
2) Premium Rooms - anyone can create, but the creator of the room approves entry, max 5 in a room.
3) One-to-one rooms - anyone can create, but the creator of the room approves entry, max 2 in a room.
4) Moderated Rooms- can only be created by Moderators, open to all, max 6 in a room. Moderators get paid for their services.

Your Take - Both the hosts and the guests registering for a room must fill-up a text box to highlight what they would be bringing to a conversation. Users can also share resources such as youtube / website / podcast links which would help others understand their views / inspiration on a topic. We believe that such curation would help users in choosing the rooms they would wish to be part of.

Payment - Users need to pay for conversations using YCoins (Each room type is differently priced). YCoins can be earned in multiple ways - a) Free YCoins credited while signing up, b) by referring your friends to YLanes, c) through your behaviour on the platform or d) by purchasing them on the platform.

Connect - You can “Connect” with like-minded people across the world on the platform and build your own communities by topic as you go along. You can freely chat with your connects and see the rooms being created by them.
